Scion has announced that the tC Release Series 5.0 will debut in Chicago with a Toyota Racing Development (TRD) theme.
The new 2009 Scion tC RS 5.0 features gloss black exterior paint and numerous performance products from TRD including: TRD edition 18-inch multi-spoke alloy wheels, in matte black with red trim, and red TRD lowering springs provide this tC with its menacing presence, a red TRD rear sway bar, a black rear lip spoiler, a TRD sport muffler and TRD exterior badges. On the inside, the tC RS 5.0 comes with a black leather steering wheel featuring red stitching, black seats with red accents and floor mats with the TRD logo.
Scion will build 2,000 units of the tC Release Series 5.0. Sales will begin later this March with an MSRP of $2,300 over the base price of the tC. Pricing for the standard tC with a manual transmission starts at $17,000, while the standard tC with an automatic carries a price-tag of $17,800. The black lip spoiler will cost you an extra $285, not including installation.
