Those of you who cherish the memories of past will surely grab the opportunity to ride this replica of George Stephenson’s pioneering steam locomotive Rocket built in 1829. The science and Museum, UK, with the help of TV presenter James May, launched this replica on 31st March, 2010.
Tyneside engineering history will be making its mark in London’s Kensington Gardens and the working replica of George Stephenson’s pioneering steam locomotive Rocket will run along 150 meters track on the Albert Approach Road.
The replica was built as a part of an effort to boost awareness of the original Stephenson’s 1829 built Rocket locomotive, which is on permanent display inside the Science Museum. Visitors will be able to experience steam train ride similar to the one undertaken by the original Rocket in 1829 from March 31st to April 18th, 2010.
