Alpina BMW B6 GT3 coming to Geneva in March

After being on a hiatus for 20-years, Alpina will bring back the BMW Alpina B6 GT3 to compete in the FIA European GT3 championship. The new racing series is relatively new and has about 12 automotive brands such as Aston Martin, Ferrari, Lamborghini and Porsche.


Back to the Alpina B6 GT3. Based on the 6-Series that has been converted into a touring-car racing clients will be provided with a 4.4L V8 taken from the Alpina B6 S. The engine will pump out a total of 530-hp along with 535 lb-ft of torque allowing for 0 to 62 mph run in 3.9 seconds.


Alpina has already tested the first unit of the B6 GT3 in freezing temperatures where the car topped speeds of 186 mph. The next couple of tests are scheduled for this week in France prior to the car’s 2009 Geneva Motor Show debut in March.
