Finally, the long awaited EPA ratings for 2011 Ford Mustang V6 are over and revealed. And it’s a big news. Yes, the EPA certified that the 2011 Ford Mustang with 305-hp 3.7-liter V-6 and available six-speed automatic transmission gets 31mpg on highways and 19mpg in city drive.

EPA ratings made 2011 Mustang the first vehicle in the history to produce more than 300hp yet achieve 30mpg on the highways, which is 2mpg more than the slightly less powerful 304hp Camaro V6.

What makes 2011 Mustang reach at this level are replacing hydraulic power steering with electric power assist and numerous small aerodynamic tweaks. Wherein a careful calibration of the new transmission was the most important of all.
