We earlier saw the first pictures and finally 2011 Volvo S60 Sedan debuting in Geneva Motor show this year, but that’s not where Volvo to stop as the brand has already created a racing version that will enter the 2010 season of the Belgian Touring Car Series (BTCS).

Developed by Volvo’s Belgian S60 Racing Team as per the BTCS Silhouette S1 regulations that asks every participating car should use a tubular chassis, the same type of front and rear suspension and aerodynamics, the team developed the racing version in a record time.

Under the hood, there is a mid-mounted 3.5-liter V6 engine that churns out 410hp and 412 Nm of torque at 5,500rpm, mated to a six-speed sequential gearbox driving the rear wheels. Also, the vehicle is equipped with the powerful brakes with 6-pot callipers all round on 380mm discs up front and 355mm on the rears.

With 10″ X 18″ front and 12″ X 18″ rear wheels and Michelin 27/65/18 front and Michelin 30/65/18 rear tyres, Volvo S60 race version had the maiden track test on April first on the Belgian Zolder track, while its racing premiere to take place on April 11th, 2010.
