Before Geneva Motor show finally commences, the list of surprises is getting longer and loner. And another bombshell is much talked about Ferrari 599 Hybrid that was leaked before the wraps finally go off at Geneva.

The Ferrari lovers though got the images, but there’s no hard information to go off of yet. However, images give an insight about what the ‘green’ 599 concept model would feature.

This new concept is equipped with an electric motor that would be producing 100hp and 137Nm of torque. The electric motor is attached on the back-end of the rear-mounted transmission, and a battery pack located under the floor.

Ferrari, as it is expedited, will use a version of Kinetic Energy Recovery System (KERS) that debuted during the 2009 Formula 1 season on the 599. Also, This extra power is a quid pro quo for the extra weight of approximately 100kg, thus making this 599 Hybrid faster than the stock model.

Designed for the Peugeot Competition, this personal mobility device is designed keeping in mind the future of transportation, which would leave no parking space and the environmental impacts of the conventionally made cars. The one passenger car, if you may, this Peugeot Concept will be electricity powered, but will have wheels moving with magnetic force, which would leave the body of the car floating over the wheels, unique idea I say.

Because of the futuristic aspect of the car, designer Yuji Fujimura takes the liberty of explaining the Peugeot concept to be sans any physical connecting parts, thus managing free movement to any degree, somewhat like the ball we had in a PC mouse (hope you remember), making it very convenient to ride and ultra cool for parking in congested areas.

The above featured vehicle is an EB-48S Concept. The brain child of Emil Badal who designed this vehicle many years ago is another breed of EB brand with a mid engine V6 supercharged. One of its cardinal features is the lightening system, particularly the rear lights that are prioritized to maximize the amount of awareness for other drivers.

Its lightening system is based on hi-bright LEDs with Neon back lights in the front and the rear ones in EB-48S have 3 sections that change lights between three colors – Red, Orange and white as per the conditions.

Means, in the day time if the driver turns on the turn indicator, the tail lights flashes with the orange LED and if the driver brakes while turning, two sections out of three turn red. In other words the tail-lights are prioritized, maximizing the amount of awareness for other drivers.

Chicago Auto Show today saw the wraps going off to a DeltaWing Indycar that marked the future of open wheel racecars. This concept is aimed at realigning America’s premiere racing tradition with current automobile industry and consumer trends. Made of carbon fiber and using recycled polyethylene, this racing car that weighs only 1,000 lbs, including the driver, is not only lighter, but less expensive to run.

This Radical Concept has 300HP and delivers 235mph laps with half the power, half fuel consumption, and above all costs half as much as the current IndyCar chassis from Dallara. Thus, DeltaWing Indycar answers the call for high performance with efficiency and sustainability in a style. This vehicle is only a concept at the moment, but it’ll surely change a lot of thinking about what future open wheel racers would be like.

Inspired by and meant for modern, eco-minded and environmentally conscious consumers, Kia has intended to communicate its fuel-saving and emissions-cutting technologies. As a result, this new PHEV has a unique aerodynamic design and innovative green technology.

Powered with an all-aluminum 153-hp Gasoline Direct Injection 1.4L engine which is mated to a permanently-engaged fixed ratio CVT transmission, the setup is used in collaboration with a 78 kW electric motor that gets power from lithium-ion batteries.

Batteries power Ray to run 50 miles after a full charge and the vehicle has the maximum fuel economy of 202 mpg, which gives it a total range of 746 miles. Further, the fuel economy is of, as per Kia, 202.3 mpg when driving in electric only mode and 77.6 mpg when running in hybrid mode.

And in order to reduce the weight and increase its fuel efficiency, Ray’s overall exterior is made of recycled materials. It also flaunts hexagonal roof-top solar cells embedded in the glass roof panel that power extra lightening and a movable rear spoiler.
